Jim Pinkston

JIM PINKSTON

Jim Pinkston was born and raised in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and is a graduate of Sapulpa High School and Tulsa Business College. He and his wife, Barbera, owned and operated their own Tire and Appliance store in Sapulpa for 21 years, ten of which they also traveled across the state preaching whereever needed.

Jim graduated from Owasso School of Biblical Studies in 1986, and in 1990 sold his tire store and began a full-time ministry in Ramona, Oklahoma. Including his part time period, Jim has twenty-eight years of preaching experience in Ramona and more recently, Glenpool, Oklahoma.

Jim also directed sessions each summer at Frog Road Camp for over 20 years, was the chairman of the annual phone campaign for Hope Harbor Children's Home for several years, and a past chairman of the Change for Children Campaign, served as an elder for three different congregations for a total of 12 years, and he and Barbara have made several evangelistic trips to Kenya, East Africa.

Jim started his prison ministry in 1986 with Ralph Hunter. In 1990 he started working with Bud Tibbles at Dick Conners Correctional Center in Hominy, Oklahoma, and later Bill Hamrick joined the team. After trying for fifteen years, they were recently able to offer the New Life Behavior lessons at Boley. Jim now teaches two classes each Tuesday at John Lilly Correctional Center at Boley, and beginning in July will be teaching again at Dick Conners each Thursday. He also teaches New Life Behavior lessons by mail with the help of several ladies from the Glenpool Church of Christ.
